At the 2025 New York Summit, AWS unveiled a comprehensive new initiative focused on Agentic AI, announcing the launch of the Amazon Bedrock AgentCore platform, the addition of an “AI Agents and Tools” category on AWS Marketplace, and a $100 million expansion of its Generative AI Innovation Center—all aimed at empowering enterprises to scale AI agents from concept to deployment.
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is a fully integrated platform designed to help businesses securely and reliably transform AI agent services from proof-of-concept into scalable, production-ready applications. The platform encompasses seven core modules: a runtime environment for long-duration tasks, a context-aware memory system, a secure identity authentication module, a gateway for integrating external tools, an advanced code interpreter, a cloud-based browser tool, and an observability interface for system monitoring and management.
These components provide enterprises with a flexible and efficient foundation to architect AI agent services that operate seamlessly across multiple frameworks and model ecosystems.
Simultaneously, AWS has introduced a new “AI Agents and Tools” category to its Marketplace, allowing enterprises to discover and deploy third-party AI agent solutions through familiar channels—accelerating the transition from experimentation to production. AWS emphasized that all offerings meet enterprise-grade security and governance standards.
To further drive collaboration and innovation across the industry, AWS announced an additional $100 million investment in its Generative AI Innovation Center. This center has previously partnered with leading organizations such as Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, BMW, and Syngenta to optimize internal workflows through AI agents. The new funding will be used to expand the AI expert team, scale up collaborative projects, and advance cross-industry adoption of generative AI technologies.
Additionally, AWS introduced a suite of new tools and services, including “Kiro,” an IDE designed to facilitate code development in collaboration with AI agents; Amazon S3 Vectors, which offers native support for vector storage and search; local MCP protocol servers and knowledge bases for enhanced model-context integration; and “Strands 1.0,” an open-source toolkit for orchestrating multi-agent AI workflows.
AWS’s bold expansion into the Agentic AI domain signals a paradigm shift in generative AI—from model-centric evolution to the rise of agent-based architectures that offer greater flexibility and commercial viability. Through these tools and collaborative platforms, AWS is clearly positioning itself to accelerate the global enterprise journey toward large-scale AI adoption.
