DuckDuckGo accuses Google of holding Duck.com to confuse its users

DuckDuckGo accuses Google

After the European Union issued a €4.3 billion fine for Google, the anonymous search engine DuckDuckGo welcomed the EU decision, saying it had a first-hand experience of Google’s abuse of monopoly, and its market share in mobile search has therefore diminished.

DuckDuckGo published in the Twitter said in a statement, before last year, adding DuckDuckGo is almost impossible on Chrome on Android, but so far in Chrome on iOS is still the impossible. DuckDuckGo is not included in Chrome’s search options, even though it is at the forefront of many countries.

Most Android versions come pre-loaded with Google search widgets, and changing search engine providers is not possible unless a new launcher installed.

Each time you update DuckDuckGo’s Chrome extension, users will be faced with a dialogue asking if to reverse the search settings and disable the entire expansion.

Also, Google has a http://duck.com domain name and points it to Google Search, which confuses DuckDuckGo users.

Former duck.com senior employee issued a statement denying that duck.com’s redirect to Google was a search for the Giant’s intentional behaviour, saying that he decided to re-take after Google’s acquisition of On2 Technologies/The Duck Corporation (on2.com and duck.com) in 2010 then decided to redirect duck.com.
