Google open .app suffix top-level domain registration
For many app developers, the dream domain name suffix “.app” finally came to Google after about three years of registration. At the time, Google acquired the top-level domain .app in 2015, after shelling out just $25 million for the honor.
Google officially opened the registration of the .app domain name and claimed to be the world’s first top-level domain name requiring HTTPS encryption. Most websites currently use HTTPS encryption, but according to the data provided by Mozilla, 32% of websites still do not use HTTPS to encrypt them.
From 02:00 Beijing time to May 7th, users can sign up for the .app through Google’s Early Access Program. After May 7, the .app domain will be open to sites such as GoDaddy, Google Domains or name.com.
Now users can check whether your favorite domain name is registered through the get.app website.
