Hacker group stole the credentials of over 71,000 Nvidia employees

Nvidia employee credentials
Previously, Nvidia has confirmed that it has suffered a cyber attack by a hacker group, resulting in the leakage of more than 1TB of data, including drivers, design drawings, and firmware. Subsequently, the hacker group has successively disclosed the contents of some materials such as the LHR algorithm, NVIDIA’s unreleased GPU and NVIDIA DLSS source code, etc. In this way, hackers asked NVIDIA to remove the relevant limitations of the LHR algorithm and open source the drivers for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
According to Nvidia, the hacking group obtained employee credentials and some Nvidia-proprietary information from internal systems. Data monitoring site Have I Been Pwned said the hacking group stole the login credentials of 71,355 Nvidia employees. The data included email addresses and hashes of Windows passwords, some of which have been cracked and circulated within the hacker community.

At present, the number of NVIDIA employees is about 20,000. Compared with the number of more than 70,000, it is too large. It is likely to include former NVIDIA employees, employees with more than one account, and access to internal servers. related personnel, etc. Tom’s Hardware said it verified the information of several Nvidia employee credentials found in the leaked material.

Leaked employee login credentials might not be the worst thing, and the hacking group also obtained two code-signing certificates. Although these code-signing certificates have expired, Windows still allows them to be used for drivers. Now that the deadline given by the hacking group is getting closer and closer, it is the last day, and I don’t know how Nvidia will respond.
