JetBrains, the renowned developer of programming tools, has recently unveiled a new no-code platform called Kineto, which has now entered its early access testing phase. This platform is designed to assist users in building websites and applications through detailed prompts—without writing a single line of code.
JetBrains believes that millions of brilliant ideas are buried beneath the weight of complex deployment environments. Even a basic application often demands a sophisticated tech stack and a team of specialists, which results in countless creative visions never coming to fruition.
No-code platforms, by contrast, can offer backend infrastructure while allowing users to construct frontends with simple drag-and-drop tools. These platforms typically handle everything from user interface to backend logic and databases, empowering users to create functional websites and applications without needing to understand the differences between Java and JavaScript.
According to JetBrains, no one has previously built a tool quite like Kineto:
“From now on, anybody in the world will be able to effortlessly create their own personal or professional app and share it with their friends – just as easily as our phones allow us to take pictures, record videos, and share these on social media today. Why look for an existing app when you can create your own in 20 minutes?
As of yet, nobody has been able to develop technology capable of doing this: website constructors increase web development speeds, but they still require your input to actually build a website, and while there are generative AI platforms, these still need you to do some (vibe) coding. At this moment in time, there is no platform that allows people with no coding experience to build a ready-to-use app and actually enjoy the process of building it.”
Kineto works by transforming user prompts into fully-formed applications. It allows users to fine-tune application rules and features without starting from scratch. This unique workflow enables direct validation and adjustment of user roles and the modification of specific content with ease.
JetBrains notes that users are not required to explain the function of every button or provide exhaustive specifications. Instead, Kineto intuitively offers the essential components, requesting only a few fundamental design choices—such as templates, fonts, and color schemes—to begin shaping a solution aligned with the user’s preferences.
Once these choices are submitted, the platform can generate a fully functional prototype in about 20 minutes. From there, users can refine the result—adding new features, adjusting the design, or even generating illustrations via natural language commands. When satisfied, they can publish the website directly through Kineto.
Interested users can now sign up for early access here. Registration is subject to approval, and JetBrains hopes to support early adopters in developing polished applications tailored to their unique visions.
