JetBrains’ project management and issue tracking software, YouTrack, will undergo a price adjustment on October 1, 2025. According to JetBrains, the price increase is due to the existing pricing model no longer reflecting the breadth of new features introduced in recent years. The platform now includes a robust knowledge base, integrated HelpDesk, and AI-assisted functionalities.
This marks the first price increase since YouTrack’s launch in 2020, following five years of stable pricing. Notably, JetBrains will continue to offer a free plan for up to 10 users, reflecting a commendably considerate approach.
The updated subscription plans and pricing details are as follows:
- The Standard YouTrack Cloud subscription starts at $5.40 per user per month, with an annual subscription averaging $4.50 per user per month.
- For cloud-based HelpDesk users, the add-on remains free for the first three agents. For larger support teams, each additional agent seat is priced at $6 per month.
- For the self-hosted YouTrack Server edition, three HelpDesk agent seats are also included at no cost. Beyond this, each additional agent seat is priced at $72 per year.
Independent developers and small teams can continue using the free YouTrack Cloud plan, which includes support for up to 10 users. This allocation remains unchanged. For users on paid plans, automatic renewals after the effective date will reflect the updated pricing.
Users on legacy User Pack plans should note that these will be discontinued after October 1, 2025. A new subscription plan will be required, though JetBrains notes these updated plans offer greater flexibility and expand storage per seat to 3GB.
Teams that prefer full control over their data and infrastructure can continue using the self-hosted YouTrack Server edition. Existing perpetual licenses will remain valid and fully functional without the need for additional payments.
Finally, JetBrains affirms that all subscription plans, both old and new, will continue to include the complete feature set — including AI-assisted capabilities — at no additional cost. Discounts for non-profit organizations, open-source projects, and educational institutions will also remain in place.
