Following multiple updates to its Llama series of large-scale natural language models, Meta has officially announced the inaugural LlamaCon developer conference, scheduled for April 29, Pacific Time.
Meta has stated that the event will showcase the latest advancements in its open-source AI technologies, providing developers with greater support in leveraging the Llama models to create innovative applications and products. Additionally, the company hinted at forthcoming details regarding the eventβs agenda.
In recent developments, Meta unveiled Llama 3.3 last December, an AI model boasting an impressive 70-billion-parameter scale, which it claims outperforms Amazonβs recently introduced Nova model. Industry speculation suggests that Meta is on the verge of announcing its next-generation Llama 4 model, anticipated for release in the first half of 2025.
Beyond LlamaCon, Meta has also confirmed that this yearβs Connect virtual vision conference will take place on September 17, Pacific Time. The event is expected to introduce the latest Quest virtual reality headset, alongside potential updates for Metaβs smart glasses developed in collaboration with Ray-Ban. Furthermore, Meta may reveal new insights into the development progress of its highly anticipated βOrionβ augmented reality glasses.
