MonoSwap Hacked: Urgent Withdrawal Alert
The popular decentralized cryptocurrency exchange platform MonoSwap recently suffered a cyberattack. The platform’s administration urges users not to add liquidity or participate in farming pools until further notice. Moreover, users with open positions on the platform should immediately withdraw their funds to avoid potential losses.
The incident occurred a few days ago when one of MonoSwap’s developers installed a phishing application to join a call with fraudsters posing as venture capitalists. The scammers installed a botnet on his office computer, which had access to all wallets and contracts associated with MonoSwap. Consequently, the attackers withdrew a significant amount of the liquid positions, causing severe damage to the protocol.
MonoSwap warns users not to click on the link used by the fraudsters to spread the phishing application. Meanwhile, the MonoSwap team is conducting a thorough investigation of the attack and will soon announce further actions. The platform intended to collaborate with venture capitalists to enhance the project’s future, but the arising issues necessitate immediate resolution and greater caution from the project’s administration.
MonoSwap is making every effort to restore security and protect users’ funds. Users are advised to follow official updates and exercise caution when interacting with suspicious links and applications.
