These days, the cybercrime is evolving at a rapid rate. Do you remember how back in the day, our biggest online fear was our computer getting a virus? Now, a decade later, it is the last concern on our page of fears. In the current day and time, there are trillion of cybercrimes happening around us. Sadly, these have the power to put an end to several industries out there.

We store a lot of information online. This means that cybercriminals can inflict serious damage to our system. You know what? That’s not even the most terrifying or the biggest threat that we have to deal with at the moment. In true honesty, cyber-terrorism is the biggest threat that we should be afraid of. Today, the criminals can also inflict mega damage to the cities, states, and the corporations by stealing from them their most valuable data. So, here are the top 10 cybercrime trends that we have to deal with.

Over 6 billion fake emails are being sent every day

Georgia, who offers online do my java homework, says that one of the most common cybercrime methods is an email scam. Think of the number of spam emails you receive every day – yes, there are no windows from Nigeria, seeking your help, that’s all scam. As per the cyber facts and stats report released by EY, more than 6.5 billion spam emails are being circulated to us every day.

There are less than one-third of URLs in the world that are regarded as safe

The Internet is a giant hub of a billion websites. There’s no surprise in the fact that a variety of them are used by cybercriminals for online crime. According to the report released by the Webroot Threat, more than 1/3 of the websites are unsafe. Lily, who offers online do my homework services, says that the URLs online are divided into three categories – low risk, moderate risk, and high risk.

The third most common cause of data breach online is phishing

Unfortunately, running a phishing campaign is very easy. This well explains their frequency. The Data Breach Investigation report laid out by Verizon 2018 regards phishing as the number one attack method.

Every 9 out of 10 attacks begins with a simple phishing email

Serina, who did an excellent Spyfu review online says that most of the cyber-attacks depend on a personalized and prolonged communication with a victim. It allows the criminal to get hold of the credentials. Mostly these attacks are directed towards larger enterprises. All of this makes it widely different from the standard phishing attacks, which are sent out on an everyday basis to several 100s of addresses.

3 out of 5 of all computers in China have a Malware virus

As per the report released by Panda Security, China is not only the primary contributor of cybercrime but also the biggest victim of it. If several reports are to be believed, China is the most malware-infected country in the world. Not too far behind is Turkey in Europe, which is believed to have 2 out of 5 of all its computers infected by the malware virus.

The big American giants lose approximately $27 million every year from cyber attacks

Blair, who offers online essay writing service, says that since America is the strongest economy in the world, it is also the biggest target for cyber-attacks. According to the study released by the Accenture, Americans tend to lose about $27 million every year as a cost of cybercrime because of these cyber-attacks.

Every 14 seconds a business is targeted with ransomware

If the reports are to be believed, businesses are targeted with calls seeking ransom every 14 seconds. It is not all. Half of the ransomware attacks hamper more than 20 of the company devices on an average.

50% of the fraudulent activities happen on the mobile devices

Statistics reveal that the primary platform for fraudulent activity is a mobile phone.

Every day more than 10,000 Android phones suffer a damage

Chuck, who works with a platform that offers online research paper for sale, says that every minute new malware pops up. According to the report laid out by Kommando Tech, there are more than 11,000 incidents of malware that take place every day. It is an increase of 40% from the last year.

In this year, more than 300 billion passwords would be in use

As per the report released by the Cybersecurity Ventures and Thycotic, more than 300 billion passwords are at a risk. Believe it or not, this is one big reason to worry. We all know that the most common passwords are 123456, qwerty, etc. This hints that there is a massive improvement required in the field of cyber education at all plausible levels. Jenny, who offers the best node js courses online, says that the biggest challenge online is that we do not have effective methods to verify your identity online. Further, there will always be a risk of fraudulent activity as the trends in the cyber rime are seeing no end. Thus, if one is educated and well-informed, we can do something to fight, or prevent, these attacks.

Take away

To create a resilient cybersecurity culture, you should start with a top-down and cohesive approach and position. For this, you need to have a reciprocal and a regular conversation with your CISO (Chief Information Security Officer). It will help you ensure that your company is doing all it can do maximize the cybersecurity potential at all times. This will go a long way in protecting your system and company from the threat of cybercrimes and criminals.

So, this is all about the cybercrime trends of 2020. To tackle it all, you’ll need to hire a CISO or learned cybersecurity professional. Now, if you have any queries or questions regarding this, you can let us know about it in the comment section below. Our team of cyber experts will be more than happy to help you out.
