Microsoft Announces Next Generation Integrated Development Environment – Visual Studio 2019

Visual Studio 2019

In today’s blog post titled  What’s Next for Visual Studio, Microsoft announced its next version of the integrated development environment – Visual Studio 2019. However, Microsoft did not elaborate on what the version will contain, or what new features will be and when it will be released.

Microsoft stated that it wants everyone to upgrade to this version very simply and easily, and Visual Studio 2019 will work with VS2017 without upgrading the operating system to the major version. This means that it will support the old system, which is somewhat unexpected because we know that Office 2019 can only run on Windows 10.

Microsoft stated that the goal of VS2019 is to make it “faster, more reliable, more productive for individuals and teams, easier to use, and easier to use”. In other words, it will be better in all aspects, including new features such as Live Code and IntelliCode.

Microsoft also did not provide a specific timeline for the release of this version, but it said that they will “fast iterate” release it. No preview is available yet, but Microsoft said that if you want to try out the latest and greatest features, you should use  Visual Studio 2017 Preview.

We all know that Microsoft has acquired GitHub. In the blog, Microsoft also stated that the developer tools team (especially .NET and Roslyn) has done a lot of work in GitHub and believe that one of the highlights of Visual Studio 2019 will include the GitHub service.
