Apple has officially unveiled the new iPad Pro powered by the M5 chip, boasting up to a 3.5× performance increase in AI-driven workflows. The device also debuts support for Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and features Apple’s custom-designed C1X cellular modem, delivering a 50% improvement in network performance.
According to Apple, the M5 architecture enables the new iPad Pro to achieve 3.5 times faster AI processing and up to 5.6 times greater computational performance compared to the M1-powered model. With its expanded memory bandwidth, the device is engineered to handle a wide range of on-device AI applications with remarkable efficiency.
In addition, the new iPad Pro introduces Apple’s N1 wireless chip, enabling Wi-Fi 7 for the first time. Cellular models are equipped with the C1X data chip, also designed by Apple, which delivers 50% faster connectivity than the previous generation while reducing power consumption by 30%.
Pre-orders for the new iPad Pro begin today, with official availability starting October 22. Prices start at $999 USD, with two color options — Space Black and Silver — and two display sizes: 11 inches and 13 inches, both featuring the Ultra Retina XDR display.
To complement the launch, Apple has updated its accessory lineup, introducing a refreshed Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro. The new Magic Keyboard is now available in black and white, while the Apple Pencil Pro retains its $129 USD price point.
