Since 2022, Apple has implemented a self-service repair program, which—following its expansion into the European market and its support for a broader range of Apple products—now allows users to independently repair iPad models using official Apple components, manuals, and tools.
Currently, the self-repair service supports various iPad models, including the iPad Air equipped with the M2 chip and newer versions, the iPad Pro powered by the M4 processor, the iPad mini with the A17 Pro chip, and iPads running on the A16 chip. Apple now offers original parts such as displays, batteries, camera modules, and external charging ports, enabling users to disassemble and repair out-of-warranty iPads on their own.
In conjunction with this, Apple has launched troubleshooting courses tailored to supported iPad models. These online resources empower users to diagnose potential issues and perform step-by-step repairs independently, guided by detailed instructions.
Moreover, in addition to purchasing parts through Apple-certified self-service providers, Apple has introduced an official parts distribution initiative. This new program allows independent repair technicians and professionals—regardless of prior affiliation with Apple—to acquire genuine repair components through the wholesale distributor MobileSentrix.
