Founder of OpenFaaS joins VMware Open Source Technology Center
According to official blogs from VMware, Alex Ellis, founder, and principal of OpenFaaS has joined the VMware Open Source Technology Center (OSTC). OSTC is committed to making some meaningful technological contributions to open source projects to ensure their viability and to bring new forces to the industry. After joining VMware, Alex will dedicate his full time to OpenFaaS, lead his contributor team, grow the community, and provide direction to the Dispatch team.
Not only has Alex contributed to OpenFaaS technology, he has also been a Docker Captain since 2016 (a title for Docker experts who are happy to share in the community) and actively blog and promote these and another open source project.
At VMworld 2017, VMware has made FaaS a new way to develop and implement applications. It’s recently open source Dispatch Functional Framework also provides enterprise functionality over existing FaaS implementations (OpenFaaS, Riff, and OpenWhisk).
