Following the release of the NVIDIA 570 series GPU drivers, many users have encountered frequent blue screen crashes and black screen issues after updating. These problems appear to be particularly prevalent on RTX 50 series graphics cards.
At present, identifying the root cause of these issues remains challenging. However, some users have reportedly mitigated the problem by rolling back to an older driver version or downgrading the PCIe protocol. The latter, however, comes at the cost of restricted GPU performance.
NVIDIA has now confirmed that a forthcoming vBIOS update will address these issues. The latest vBIOS firmware has already been distributed to AIB partners, with manufacturers such as MSI beginning to roll out the updated vBIOS to users.
According to NVIDIA, users may either install the vBIOS update provided by AIB partners or opt for the upcoming official driver release from NVIDIA, both of which will ensure their vBIOS is upgraded to the latest version.
What remains particularly intriguing is NVIDIA’s continued silence on these issues. To date, the company has not directly acknowledged the underlying cause. If a vBIOS update can resolve the problem, it suggests a software-related issue—yet why has NVIDIA chosen to remain tight-lipped?
Ultimately, the effectiveness of the fix will only become clear after the new driver is released and thoroughly tested. Furthermore, while RTX 50 series GPUs seem most affected, some RTX 40 series users have also reported similar problems. One can only hope that the upcoming driver update will deliver a definitive resolution.
