This Critical Patch Update contains 254 new security fixes. Many bugs permit hacker may be remotely exploitable without authentication. A remote attacker could exploit some of these vulnerabilities to take control of an affected system.
Oracle therefore strongly recommends that customers remain on actively-supported versions and apply Critical Patch Update fixes without delay.
