Valve has officially begun rolling out a major redesign of the Steam Store pages to all users. This update addresses the long-standing issue of cramped layouts on wide screens, introducing a broader page design, support for higher-resolution images, and new viewing modes for trailers and screenshots—all aimed at delivering a more refined and comfortable browsing experience.
The overhaul extends across multiple sections of the platform, including game store pages, search results, recommendation feeds, Store Hubs, Steam Charts, and the News Hub, unifying their visual style while making them more spacious and cohesive.
Valve explained that expanding the page width to 1200 pixels represents a “good balance” that allows for more content to be displayed without making the layout feel cluttered or difficult to navigate.
The top carousel now features a new “Theater Mode”—a large pop-up viewer—alongside a full-screen option for promotional media. The “About the Game” section has also been reformatted with an updated layout to improve clarity and readability.
Additionally, users may notice that some game and bundle pages now feature more colorful and visually dynamic backgrounds, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal.
However, Valve clarified that this update does not include the Steam homepage. The company noted that similar design improvements are currently in development for the homepage but were not part of this rollout.
This redesign had previously been tested among Beta users and has now been officially released to the entire Steam community.
