The White House official website move from Drupal to WordPress
According to eweek, the White House official website (whitehouse.gov) moved from Drupal CMS content management system to WordPress, a move aimed at reducing expenditure, the site maintenance costs down to $3 million per year.
When Obama became president of the United States in 2009, the White House website CMS was replaced by open-source Drupal, and Drupal founder Dries Buytaert also wrote a special compliment about it.
The new website came online on December 15, and although there was no official announcement on the whitehouse.gov website, a brief introduction to the HTML source from the site provided enough evidence that it was taken to WordPress. The White House said that the information provided by the old website is not easy to be used. The design of the new website is specially enhanced with search tools. The website visitors can choose according to their needs and search the article content by date or topic classification. The new website design conforms to the design of the website of the United States Standard, simple style.
