OpenAI is enriching the enterprise edition of ChatGPT with a suite of powerful new features, including integration with various cloud services, meeting transcription capabilities, and support for the MCP (Model Context Protocol) designed to connect research tools to conversational input.
To begin with, ChatGPT for Business will support connectors for Microsoft OneDrive, Outlook, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, and SharePoint. This enhancement allows enterprises to query internal services directly through ChatGPT—for example, enabling analysts to craft insightful reports using company presentations and internal documentation.
These integrations will adhere to each organization’s hierarchical access controls, granting IT administrators the ability to configure user permissions and features according to internal policy—such as limiting access to specific subsets of content.
Additionally, ChatGPT is introducing meeting recording and transcription functionalities—essential tools for any enterprise productivity suite. The recording feature generates time-stamped references and action suggestions, while the transcriptions allow for rapid keyword searches and improved post-meeting analysis.
Users can also convert these action items into Canvas documents—an OpenAI-developed workspace tool designed for structured project composition. Similar transcription and summarization features have recently been adopted by platforms such as Zoom and Notion.
In the realm of advanced research, all paying ChatGPT users—not just enterprise customers—will gain access to the new Deep Research connectors. These include integrations with Microsoft, Google, HubSpot, Linear, and more, enabling users to draw on structured data and external sources to compile comprehensive research reports.
Moreover, users can leverage the MCP (Model Context Protocol) to link ChatGPT with additional external tools for deeper analysis. However, this capability is currently exclusive to ChatGPT Pro, Team, and Enterprise subscribers; it is not yet available to ChatGPT Plus or free-tier users.
