Google recently introduced an update to its Gemini Advanced service, enhancing the capabilities of the Gemini Live AI assistant by enabling it to recall previous conversations, thereby fostering more dynamic and contextual interactions.
Previously, users had to repeatedly restate their queries or reference earlier discussions to prompt the AI assistant to “remember” past interactions. This update, however, allows Gemini Live to retain context from prior dialogues, enabling users to seamlessly continue conversations and generate responses more efficiently. Additionally, users can now request summaries of past discussions or resume interactions based on prior exchanges.
Regarding security, Google assures that users have full control over Gemini Live’s memory capabilities. Users can manually choose whether the AI assistant retains conversation history, manage recorded interactions through the activity page in their personal accounts, and selectively delete or modify stored data as needed.
Currently, this feature is exclusive to subscribers of Gemini Advanced and is available only in English. However, Google plans to expand language support and extend availability to Google Workspace and enterprise users in the future.
Moreover, Gemini Live now supports multilingual interactions within a single conversation, albeit with limited performance at present. The assistant currently accommodates English, Chinese, and Korean, with Google promising further refinements in upcoming updates. Additionally, features such as screen sharing and real-time video streaming are in development, though a specific release timeline has yet to be confirmed.
