Google has resolved to augment the cognitive faculties of Gemini for endeavors where a concise retort is insufficient. On February 19, the company unveiled Gemini 3.1 Pro, characterizing it as the most sophisticated model within its lineage for intricate analysis, strategic planning, and the orchestration of voluminous datasets.
Within consumer-facing products, the model has commenced its rollout via the Gemini application, though elevated utilization thresholds remain the exclusive prerogative of Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Simultaneously, Gemini 3.1 Pro has been integrated into NotebookLM, where it is accessible solely to those tethered to the aforementioned premium tiers.
For developers and enterprise entities, accessibility has likewise been inaugurated, albeit currently in a preview state. Google delineates several entry points for integration: Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Google Antigravity, Vertex AI, Gemini Enterprise, Gemini CLI, and Android Studio.
According to the model’s technical specifications, Gemini 3.1 Pro is natively multi-modal, possessing the faculty to process not only text but also imagery, audio, cinematic clips, and entire repositories of source code. It boasts a contextual window of up to 1 million tokens with an output capacity of 64,000 tokens, indicating that the model is specifically engineered for exhaustive documentation and substantial data inputs.
In the API environment, the model is designated as the preview variant gemini-3.1-pro-preview. The fiscal structure for standard inquiries is set at $2 per million input tokens (for prompts under 200k) and $12 per million output tokens, with an escalating tariff for exceptionally vast prompts. Google explicitly cautions that pricing configurations for Vertex AI may diverge from these standard rates.
