Following the acquisition announcement earlier this year, HPE has officially completed its purchase of networking solutions provider Juniper Networks. This strategic move aims to expand HPE’s footprint in AI-native and cloud-native networking solutions, further solidifying its position in the hybrid cloud and AI-driven infrastructure markets. It also marks a significant step toward the company’s vision of developing a comprehensive and secure end-to-end networking IP stack.
Moving forward, HPE will integrate Juniper Networks’ technological strengths—including data center infrastructure, firewalls, routers, and AI-powered automated management—to enhance its global leadership across enterprise networking, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), and hybrid cloud domains.
Following the acquisition, former Juniper Networks CEO Rami Rahim will lead HPE’s networking division. He emphasized that the merger will yield “a new class of secure and flexible networking solutions, purpose-built for AI applications,” enabling customers to meet the growing complexity and data demands of hybrid AI workloads.
This deal is set to double the scale of HPE’s networking business and stands as a tangible result of the company’s strategic shift from traditional hardware sales to high-margin, high-growth sectors. The combined entity will collaborate across the entire technology stack—from networking chips and hardware to operating systems, security, software, and services—leveraging AI and cloud-native architectures to streamline the deployment and management of AI and hybrid cloud applications across enterprise environments.
HPE also anticipates that by integrating Juniper Networks’ technologies with its global sales and support infrastructure, it will significantly broaden the market reach of Juniper’s products. The synergy between both companies is expected to drive deeper penetration into data centers, telecommunications, and enterprise networks, unlocking new avenues of growth.
Originally announced in January 2024 and approved by Juniper’s shareholders in April, the acquisition is now finalized. As a result, Juniper Networks’ NYSE-listed stock (ticker symbol: JNPR) will be delisted, and the company will officially operate as a key business unit under the HPE umbrella.
