Oracle Critical Patch Update for October 2026 fixes 1,209 CVEs, including six CVSS 10.0 bugs such as CVE-2026-101809 in E-Business Suite.Oracle released the update on October 20, 2026. The fixes span 33 product families, from databases to retail and healthcare software.
Size alone is not the main concern, though. The risk comes from where these products sit. WebLogic, SOA Suite, Access Manager, and E-Business Suite often face the internet. They also hold payroll, supply chain, and identity data.
Attackers know this well. Oracle WebLogic and E-Business Suite flaws have appeared repeatedly in CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. In 2025, for example, attackers abused E-Business Suite flaw CVE-2025-61882 in a large data theft and extortion campaign.
Top 10 Flaws to Patch First
We ranked the list by two factors. First, the flaw must be reachable over the network without authentication. Second, we sorted by CVSS score.
| CVE | Product | Component | CVSS | Attack vector |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CVE-2026-101809 | E-Business Suite (Workflow) | Workflow Notification Mailer | 10.0 | HTTP |
| CVE-2026-87337 | Oracle Access Manager | Authentication Engine | 10.0 | HTTP |
| CVE-2026-91216 | Oracle SOA Suite | Fabric Layer | 10.0 | T3, IIOP |
| CVE-2026-91221 | Oracle SOA Suite | Fabric Layer | 10.0 | T3, IIOP |
| CVE-2026-91231 | Oracle SOA Suite | Adapters | 10.0 | HTTP |
| CVE-2026-91299 | JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator | E1 IOT Orchestrator Security | 10.0 | HTTP |
| CVE-2026-83399 | Oracle WebLogic Server | Core | 9.8 | T3, IIOP |
| CVE-2026-91323 | Oracle WebLogic Server | Core | 9.8 | HTTP |
| CVE-2026-75803 | Oracle Database Server | RDBMS (OpenSSL) | 9.8 | TLS |
| CVE-2026-101521 | Oracle APEX | General | 9.8 | HTTPS |
Every flaw in this table lets an unauthenticated attacker compromise the product. All six CVSS 10.0 bugs also involve a scope change. In other words, a successful attack can spread beyond the vulnerable component.
How the Attacks Work
Oracle describes most of these flaws as “easily exploitable.” An attacker only needs network access to the right port or web endpoint. No user interaction is required for the top ten.
The attack paths differ by product. The SOA Suite and WebLogic bugs are reachable over T3, IIOP, or HTTP. In contrast, the Access Manager flaws target its Authentication Engine, which sits at the front door of single sign-on.
Bundled components also play a large role. Many critical entries come from third-party libraries such as OpenSSL, curl, Apache MINA, and the Spring Framework. For instance, Oracle Communications has 30 critical patches, and most of them stem from these libraries.
Affected Products
The table below lists the product families with the most patches.
| Product family | Patches | Remote, no auth | Critical |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oracle Fusion Middleware | 203 | 131 | 40 |
| Oracle E-Business Suite | 194 | 31 | 4 |
| Oracle Siebel CRM | 122 | 60 | 3 |
| Oracle PeopleSoft | 109 | 38 | 2 |
| Oracle Communications | 110 | 76 | 30 |
| Oracle JD Edwards | 102 | 37 | 5 |
| Oracle MySQL | 98 | 26 | 4 |
| Oracle Java SE | 55 | 49 | 0 |
| Oracle Database Server | 13 | 3 | 1 |
Fusion Middleware leads in severity with 40 critical patches. E-Business Suite follows closely in volume with 194 patches, and all of them affect versions 12.2.3 through 12.2.15. Java SE has no critical flaws this quarter, yet 49 of its 55 patches are remotely exploitable without authentication.
Exploitation Status
Oracle’s risk matrices do not flag any of these flaws as exploited in the wild. No public proof-of-concept code has been confirmed so far either. However, past cycles show that attackers often reverse-engineer Oracle patches within days.
Patch and Mitigation Steps
Oracle urges customers to apply the Critical Patch Update without delay. We suggest the following order:
- Patch internet-facing WebLogic, SOA Suite, Access Manager, and E-Business Suite servers first.
- Next, fix every flaw that is remotely exploitable without authentication.
- Then patch internal systems such as Database Server, MySQL, and Java SE during your next maintenance window.
Where patching must wait, reduce exposure. Block T3 and IIOP traffic from untrusted networks. Also, keep E-Business Suite and middleware consoles off the public internet.
Full details are available in the October 2026 advisory and the text form of the risk matrices.
The Bottom Line
This Oracle Critical Patch Update is large, but the priorities are clear. Six CVSS 10.0 flaws and hundreds of unauthenticated bugs demand fast action. Start with the systems that face the internet, and patch this week.
