According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter, Apple retail employees have been instructed to prepare for an “overnight refresh” on the evening of November 11 —a move that suggests something new may be unveiled on November 12. However, Gurman cautions that expectations for an immediate new hardware launch should remain modest.
Market speculation had previously suggested that Apple might refresh its Apple TV and HomePod mini product lines before the end of the year, particularly as inventory levels for both have been “tightening noticeably”—a common indicator that new models are imminent. Yet, Gurman offers a more reserved perspective, arguing that the timing makes it “far more likely” the store refresh will focus on visual merchandising updates for the holiday shopping season, rather than the debut of new hardware.
Furthermore, during last week’s earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook remarked, “We’re thrilled to share our most extraordinary product lineup as we enter the holiday season.” Gurman interprets this as an implicit confirmation that Apple’s 2025 hardware lineup is complete, suggesting that the recently launched M5-powered MacBook Pro was the company’s final major release of the year.
Still, Gurman leaves room for interpretation, noting that Cook’s comments may have referred primarily to Apple’s core revenue drivers—such as the Mac and iPad—and not necessarily to smaller hardware categories like the Apple TV or HomePod mini, whose financial impact is comparatively limited.
Gurman concludes that even if these two products do not appear before year’s end, updates are likely imminent, as both devices are expected to play a “pivotal role” in showcasing the new Siri and Apple Intelligence features launching in 2026. Thus, hardware revisions are anticipated ahead of the official AI rollout next year.
Looking beyond the uncertainty of late 2025, Gurman characterizes 2026 as Apple’s “most pivotal year in recent memory,” marked by the global expansion of Apple Intelligence, intensifying App Store regulatory pressures, looming tariff risks, and the unveiling of at least 15 major new products. His projected roadmap includes:
Early 2026
- iPhone 17e (budget model)
- iPad (12th generation) with A18 chip
- iPad Air with M4 chip
- MacBook Air with M5 chip
- MacBook Pro with M5 Pro / M5 Max chips
- New external display
Spring 2026 (March–April)
- Full rollout of new Siri and Apple Intelligence services
- Smart Home Display, available with both speaker dock and wall-mount options
Fall 2026
- New Apple Watch
- iPhone 18 series
- iPhone 18 Pro, expected to debut Apple’s first in-house modem, replacing Qualcomm
- Foldable iPhone — Apple’s first foldable device
Throughout 2026
- Smart home security devices (e.g., cameras)
- Mac mini with M5 chip
- New Mac Studio
- New iPad mini with OLED display
(Note: The next iPad Pro refresh is expected in 2027.)
Late 2026
- Redesigned MacBook Pro featuring M6 Pro / M6 Max chips, a thinner chassis, touchscreen support, and an OLED display
- Preview of Apple’s long-awaited Smart Glasses
Taken together, this ambitious and tightly packed roadmap suggests Apple is preparing an unprecedented product surge for its 50th anniversary in 2026—a grand showcase of innovation spanning AI, next-generation silicon (M5 / M6 / C1), and entirely new hardware categories, from foldable devices to smart displays and touch-enabled Macs.
