With the public beta of the new iOS 26 and other operating systems now available and their official release expected this fall, Apple is preparing to introduce additional incentives to bolster its Apple One subscription service—aiming to solidify it as a key pillar of its revenue strategy.
Launched in late October 2020, Apple One bundles several offerings—iCloud+, Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade—and later expanded to include Apple News+ and Fitness+, all accessible through a unified monthly subscription.
At WWDC 2025, Apple unveiled several new features set to debut with iOS 26, including a whimsical mini-game called “Emoji Game” and the “Apple Invites” feature, designed to enhance user interaction and shared experiences through event invitations. Apple Music is also receiving an “Auto Mix” function for seamless music blending, while Fitness+ will introduce “Ready-Made Custom Plans”—AI-generated workout routines tailored to individual goals. Meanwhile, watchOS 26 will debut “Workout Buddy,” a feature aimed at making daily fitness more intuitive and engaging.
With subscription services now generating more revenue than Macs, iPads, and even wearables, Apple is expected to continue enriching its service offerings to encourage ongoing subscriptions. This strategy ensures that even users who don’t upgrade their iPhones annually can still access exclusive features and experiences through Apple’s service ecosystem.
At a time when subscription prices for platforms like Netflix, Spotify, and Disney+ continue to rise due to increasing costs, Apple One’s pricing has remained relatively stable—while consistently introducing new features. This not only enhances the perceived value of the subscription, but also strengthens the integration between Apple’s services and hardware, deepening user loyalty and reinforcing Apple’s broader shift toward service-based revenue rather than reliance on hardware sales.
In parallel, Apple has also announced a new subscription-based device protection plan, “AppleCare One,” priced at $20 per month. This plan covers up to three Apple devices simultaneously and includes eligibility for existing devices purchased within the past four years, provided they are in good condition. This new offering is expected to further expand Apple’s subscription base by appealing to users seeking comprehensive and flexible device support.
