According to the latest reports, Samsung has reportedly made last-minute adjustments to the physical dimensions of the upcoming Galaxy S26 standard edition. The measurements previously shared with accessory manufacturers have been updated, with the new design showing slight increases in height, width, and thickness.
Sources indicate that the final dimensions of the Galaxy S26 are 149.5 x 71.6 x 7.24 mm, with the camera module bump extending the overall thickness to 10.44 mm. By comparison, the earlier specifications provided to accessory makers were 149.3 x 71.4 x 6.96 mm.
Although the changes appear minor, the most notable adjustment is the increase in body thickness from 6.96 mm to 7.24 mm. This has sparked speculation that Samsung may have enlarged the battery capacity of the Galaxy S26 standard model to enhance battery life.
However, considering Samsung’s traditionally conservative approach to battery upgrades in its base flagship models, it remains uncertain whether this modification is directly related to a power capacity improvement.
Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S25, the new Galaxy S26 is expected to be taller, wider, and slightly thicker, suggesting subtle yet deliberate refinements in its overall design.
In addition, rumors suggest that the Galaxy S26 will adopt a flat display design, while the triple-camera array on the rear will be housed within a new oval-shaped island module. All physical buttons are reportedly positioned along the right-hand frame for a cleaner aesthetic.
At its core, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to feature Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chipset in select regions, while other markets will receive the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
As for the earlier rumor that the standard Galaxy S26 might be rebranded as the Galaxy S26 Pro, the latest reports claim that although the idea was briefly considered internally, Samsung has since abandoned the renaming plan.
Additionally, sources note that following the cancellation of the Galaxy S26 Edge development project, Samsung has revised its production schedule. Currently, only the OLED panels for the Galaxy S26 Ultra have received manufacturing approval, with final assembly expected to begin ahead of schedule in December 2025.
Conversely, display production for the Galaxy S26 and S26+ has been postponed until December, pushing full device assembly to January 2026. As a result, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is now anticipated to reach the market first, while the standard Galaxy S26 and S26+ models are expected to launch slightly later.
