Samsung data breach
Samsung, which has previously maintained a close partnership with Google, is now reportedly in talks with Perplexity.ai to explore a collaboration that would reduce its heavy reliance on Google technologies.
According to a Bloomberg report, Samsung has already begun discussions with Perplexity.ai and is expected to become the lead investor in the company’s upcoming $500 million funding round. This move could raise Perplexity.ai’s valuation to $14 billion.
Samsung is anticipated to integrate Perplexity.ai’s artificial intelligence capabilities into the Galaxy S26 series, slated for release in 2026. The AI technology is expected to be incorporated into the browser and Bixby services, with the potential for deeper collaboration to develop an AI-enabled operating system and intelligent agent services.
Previously, Perplexity.ai partnered with Motorola, embedding its AI technology into Motorola’s smartphones and introducing an AI assistant service known as Perplexity Assistant. It is likely that Samsung’s collaboration with Perplexity.ai may follow a similar model.
