With just two days remaining until Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, fresh leaks have emerged online showcasing the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Flip7—this time in the form of an actual hands-on video. The footage reveals that the foldable device is indeed thinner than its predecessor, as previous rumors had suggested. It also confirms the adoption of a punch-hole design for the outer display, while the crease on the inner screen appears notably less pronounced.
The video first surfaced on the platform “X” but was swiftly taken down. Nevertheless, 9to5Google managed to preserve and report on its contents.
According to the video, the Galaxy Z Flip7 features a significantly slimmer profile and a punch-hole design on the outer display, which is expected to expand the screen’s usable area. Visually, the design now bears a closer resemblance to Motorola’s Razr 60 Ultra.
Moreover, the inner screen crease appears to have been refined and is less visible than on previous models. However, subtle lines can still be seen, raising questions about whether prolonged use might exacerbate the crease or lead to unforeseen screen fractures—an issue Samsung may address during the official reveal.
The operating system and interface were not shown in the leaked footage, leaving specific software features undisclosed until Samsung’s official announcement.
Earlier reports suggested that the Galaxy Z Flip7, when unfolded, would measure just 6.5mm thick and 13.7mm when folded, with a weight of 188 grams—noticeably lighter and thinner than its predecessor. The outer display is expected to be 4.1 inches, offering users convenient access to core features without needing to unfold the device. The inner display retains a 6.9-inch panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, ensuring a smoother and more immersive visual experience.
In terms of battery life, the Z Flip7 is rumored to include a 4,300mAh battery—a modest but meaningful upgrade aimed at addressing the historically limited endurance of foldable smartphones.
Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for July 9. In addition to unveiling the Galaxy Z Flip7, the company is expected to introduce the larger foldable Galaxy Z Fold7, along with new wearable devices such as the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic.
Interestingly, there is also speculation that Samsung may close the event with the long-rumored tri-fold smartphone, the “Galaxy G Fold.” Unlike Huawei’s Z-style fold seen in the Mate XT, the G Fold is said to feature Samsung’s previously showcased Flex G design—where the left and right panels fold inward toward the central display. This approach offers improved screen protection, simplifies hinge mechanics, and enhances overall durability and stability.
