Starting today, users of the Google Gemini app can experience the newly introduced image-to-video generation feature, powered by Google’s advanced Veo 3 AI video generator. By simply uploading a photo and providing a prompt, users can effortlessly create dynamic video content.
The Veo 3 generator, an avant-garde AI model unveiled by Google in May, is now available in over 150 countries and regions. However, access to this feature is currently limited to subscribers of the Google AI Ultra and Google AI Pro plans.
Subscribers are granted the ability to generate up to three videos per day, with no rollover — unused quotas expire daily and do not accumulate, meaning users cannot generate six videos the following day if they skip one.
Within the Gemini app, users can tap the video option from the input toolbar, upload a photo, and initiate the creation process. Additionally, they can enhance the video with audio by describing it through text prompts. Once generated, the video can be downloaded and shared with others.
It is worth noting that all Gemini-generated videos will include visible and invisible watermarks: a visible Veo watermark and an imperceptible SynthID digital watermark. The latter can be detected by specialized tools, ensuring that AI-generated videos can be identified — a safeguard against the spread of deceptive or misleading content.
Google further revealed that the Veo 3 AI model has been met with widespread enthusiasm. Since its launch seven weeks ago, users have created over 40 million videos through the Gemini app and the Flow platform.
