Yesterday, we reported, “iPhone iOS 9/10/11 source code has been leaked on GitHub” Although this incident can be traced back to a few months ago, Reddit broke the news, but apparently unable to sit still. According to theverge media reports, shortly after the incident, Apple made contact with GitHub, requiring the code hosting platform to immediately clean up the published source code. After the test, we found that the original this link (https://github.com/king4q/iBoot) is no longer available.
It is reported that this leaked iBoot code may be exploited by hackers and found loopholes in the iOS system, or even more easily jailbreak.
Jonathan Levin, who wrote programming books for iOS and macOS systems, also said in an interview with Motherboard: “this is the biggest leak in [its] history.”
iBoot is to protect iOS software trusted start an important part of the operation, the lawyer described the leak as “copy of the Apple iBoot source code.” The company wrote in the request for removal:“The ‘iBoot’ source code is proprietary and it includes Apple’s copyright notice. It is not open-source.”
