According to a support bulletin released by Apple, certain Mac Mini models equipped with the M2 chip may experience an unexpected issue that prevents the device from powering on. To address this, Apple is offering complimentary repair services to affected users.
Apple states that this issue only impacts M2 Mac Mini units manufactured between June and November 2024. However, not all devices within this range are affected. Users can verify their device’s eligibility by entering its serial number on Apple’s official support website.
If a device is confirmed to be affected after the serial number check, users may schedule an appointment at the nearest Apple Store or an authorized service provider and bring in their device for repair.
As is customary, Apple requires that any additional damage caused by the user must be repaired first—at the user’s expense—before complimentary service for the power issue can be provided.
Finally, this issue does not affect Mac Mini models powered by other M-series chips. If you own an M2 Mac Mini, you may check your serial number here.
