According to information obtained by Bloomberg and other media outlets, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is actively recruiting top-tier experts to realize his vision of developing superintelligent artificial intelligence.
Reports indicate that over the past month, Zuckerberg has invited AI researchers, infrastructure engineers, and entrepreneurs to private dinners, hoping to persuade them to join his elite AI team.
Meta, too, is striving to achieve advancements in Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), aiming to create AI systems capable of human-like reasoning and assisting in a broad spectrum of tasks. The company’s ultimate goal, however, is the development of superintelligent AI—systems that surpass the cognitive abilities of the human brain to drive technological progress at an unprecedented pace.
It is also reported that Zuckerberg has personally reached out to Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang, inviting him to join the initiative, with Meta prepared to invest billions of dollars into this endeavor. Additionally, Meta has allegedly extended lucrative offers—ranging from seven- to nine-figure compensation packages—to dozens of AI experts from Google, OpenAI, and other leading firms, in an effort to attract top talent.
Meta’s recent release of its large language model, Llama 4, fell short of expectations, drawing criticism and prompting delays in the launch of its massively scaled model, codenamed “Behemoth.” In response, Zuckerberg has taken a more hands-on role in overseeing recruitment, determined to regain momentum in the AI race.
