Revamped "Start" Menu Interface
When Windows 11 version 24H2 was initially released, Microsoft quickly identified compatibility issues affecting certain game anti-cheat systemsβmost notably the widely used Easy Anti-Cheat, which in some cases caused games to crash or fail to run properly.
In a support document published on July 25, 2025, Microsoft announced that all compatibility issues between Windows 11 24H2 and Easy Anti-Cheat have been fully resolved. Consequently, users who were previously blocked from upgrading will now begin receiving the update automatically.
This means that users currently running Windows 11 version 23H2 with games that include the Easy Anti-Cheat module will soon see upgrade notifications on their PCsβor the system may update silently during idle periods, installing Windows 11 version 24H2 in the background.
For example, Fortnite, a popular title under EPIC Games that utilizes this anti-cheat module, will once again be fully playable after upgrading to Windows 11 24H2βprovided users also update the game to its latest version.
Notably, the compatibility issue primarily affected systems equipped with Intel Alder Lake and Intel vPro processors, which are typically found in enterprise environments. Other Intel consumer-grade processors paired with Windows 11 24H2 and Easy Anti-Cheat should experience little to no disruption.
Users are encouraged to test the upgrade to Windows 11 24H2. If, after updating, performance issues arise or games fail to launch, it may be advisable to temporarily roll back to the previous version and wait for Microsoft or game developers to release further fixes.
