Revamped "Start" Menu Interface
In July 2025, certain updates caused irregularities in the Windows 11 firewall, resulting in error IDs appearing in the Event Viewer. At the time, Microsoft stated that the issue did not affect the firewall’s normal operation and that the error events could safely be ignored.
It now appears that an unspecified Microsoft update has triggered a similar problem, though this time it is unrelated to the firewall. Instead, the issue stems from the Windows 11 Digital Certificate Services component, which generates Event Viewer error ID 57.
Specifically, users may encounter error ID 57 accompanied by the message: “The “Microsoft Pluton Cryptographic Provider” provider was not loaded because initialization failed.”
Microsoft has assured users that this problem does not impact system functionality or the normal operation of Windows 11, and therefore, the error can be disregarded. The cause lies in ongoing development of a new feature, meaning no action is required from IT administrators or end users.
Until the issue is fully resolved, users will see a new error ID 57 entry in the Event Viewer each time the system is restarted. This problem affects only Windows 11 version 24H2 installations that have received the July update KB5062660 or later; other versions remain unaffected.
