Google announced a suite of new tools and expanded capabilities for its “AI Mode,” enabling the system to assist users with increasingly complex everyday tasks. Among them, the AI-enhanced search tool “Flight Deals,” integrated within Google Flights, will graduate from beta to a full global rollout. At the same time, a new feature called “Canvas” is being introduced into AI Mode to support planning and project management.
The “Flight Deals” tool operates within the Google Flights service, and with this expansion, users worldwide can now rely on natural-language prompts to request that the AI identify the most advantageous airfare offers.
In the United States, Google is further extending the “agentic” abilities of AI Mode.
This shift means the AI will not merely provide information but also act on the user’s behalf to carry out tasks. The new capabilities allow more users to employ the AI for restaurant reservations, ticket purchases for events, and even bookings for beauty or wellness appointments.
Another major highlight of this update is “Canvas,” a dedicated organizational space designed for building plans and managing projects.
Google particularly emphasizes its usefulness in travel planning. Within the Canvas environment, users can describe the type of trip they envision, and the AI will automatically propose suitable destinations, hotels, and relevant booking details—consolidating scattered travel information into a single interface.
This initiative marks Google’s latest step in steering its AI efforts toward increasingly agentic applications.
Just last week, Google introduced a series of AI-driven shopping features, including “agentic checkout,” which can locate products at specific price points and complete purchases automatically. Consumers may ask Google to monitor prices and authorize the AI to place an order whenever the cost drops to the desired level.
Google continues to deploy AI capabilities across Google Photos, Google Messages, Android, and other products in its ecosystem.
