Although consumer support for Windows 10 is nearing its end, Microsoft continues to refine various features of the operating system through updates. For instance, after widespread user complaints, the company recently reinstated the option to display seconds in the time and calendar module.
In the June 2025 cumulative update (build 202506), Microsoft introduced further enhancements to the time and calendar flyout, integrating event information sourced from Bing—such as annual observances like Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, and international commemorative days like the International Day of Light.
With Bing event integration, users will now see monthly observances displayed directly within their calendars. On the day of a given event, a small icon corresponding to the occasion will appear next to the time in the calendar flyout. Microsoft describes this as a way to enrich the user experience.

Naturally, clicking on these events redirects users to Bing search results—even if their default search engine is set to Google. While this can be seen as a subtle method of promoting Bing, the implementation is relatively nonintrusive and unlikely to cause major inconvenience.
However, this update is not without its drawbacks. Some users rely heavily on the Windows 10 calendar flyout to track personal to-dos and appointments. The addition of Bing events has introduced slight visual clutter. To mitigate this, Microsoft has prioritized user-created entries above Bing-provided ones, ensuring that personal events remain prominently visible.
Though consumer support is ending, Microsoft will continue offering limited support for enterprise users, including paid Extended Security Updates (ESU). This ongoing feature development may be aimed at accommodating those customers still relying on Windows 10.
That said, ESU programs typically focus solely on security fixes, not feature enhancements. It is therefore likely that Microsoft will continue rolling out functional improvements until October 2025, after which no further feature changes are expected.
