During the upcoming WWDC 2025, in addition to unveiling updates to its major operating systems, Apple is also expected to introduce a revised SwiftUI framework aimed at streamlining the development process and reducing its complexity for developers.
According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to restructure the SwiftUI architecture to enable developers to craft more consistent app interfaces across future iterations of its operating systems. Enhancements will also be introduced to support rich text formatting (RTF) and WebView-based content input.
Previously, developers working within the SwiftUI framework were required to rely on traditional coding methods, integrate UIKit components, or adopt non-native workarounds to implement rich text or web content views—resulting in fragmented development experiences.
With the upcoming update, developers are anticipated to gain access to a built-in rich text editor and the ability to seamlessly embed web views directly within SwiftUI. This evolution will not only simplify the content creation workflow but also significantly lower the barrier to sophisticated interface design.
However, this update may not be prominently featured during the WWDC 2025 keynote, which is expected to center primarily on the latest operating system releases and advancements in Apple’s “Apple Intelligence” technologies.
