Apple has officially confirmed that it will host its autumn launch event on September 9 at 10:00 a.m. (Pacific Time) at its Cupertino headquarters. The event will carry the theme “Awe dropping,” hinting at the debut of groundbreaking designs and possibly the long-rumored iPhone 17 Air.
Industry expectations suggest that this year’s iPhone 17 lineup will follow Apple’s traditional structure, comprising the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the newly introduced ultra-thin model, the iPhone 17 Air.
According to speculation, the iPhone 17 Air will emphasize an “ultra-thin, ultra-light” design, potentially utilizing next-generation materials to achieve a slimmer body without compromising durability. Apple is also expected to refine the battery configuration to ensure that endurance remains sufficient despite the reduced chassis size—signaling a deliberate attempt to strike a balance between lightness and longevity.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are anticipated to carry forward more advanced camera systems and AI-driven features. With iOS 26 already unveiled at WWDC 2025 and currently in public beta, the spotlight may shift to how these new hardware capabilities integrate with existing software, particularly in AI-assisted photography and generative video features, reinforcing Apple’s strategic push into generative AI.
Beyond the iPhone, Apple is also expected to unveil the AirPods Pro 3, potentially enhanced with next-level health sensors or more immersive spatial audio. The Apple Watch Series 11 is likewise rumored to introduce material and battery-life breakthroughs, strengthening its role as a comprehensive health-monitoring device.
If Apple succeeds in delivering the promised ultra-thin design of the iPhone 17 Air, it will likely once again set a new market standard—reshaping industry trends and establishing a benchmark that competitors will inevitably seek to follow.
