Revamped "Start" Menu Interface
The Windows 11 Arm ecosystem, jointly advanced by Qualcomm and Microsoft, is steadily maturing. An increasing number of software vendors are now offering native Arm64 versions of their applications, ensuring a smoother, more efficient user experience—eschewing the need to rely on compatibility layers that emulate Arm64 on x86 architectures.
In the gaming sphere, adaptation has been more complex, largely due to kernel-level anti-cheat systems. If these anti-cheat solutions lack compatibility, any games that rely on them remain inaccessible to Windows 11 Arm users.
Now, Epic Games has fulfilled its promise to bring the Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) system to Windows 11 Arm devices. EAC, a widely used kernel-level anti-cheat solution, underpins many popular titles. With its arrival, developers of EAC-powered games can now actively adapt their titles for the Windows 11 Arm environment.
Epic had initially pledged to enable EAC compatibility for Arm devices by March 2025. Though delayed, the company has now delivered—making available the updated SDK (software development kit) that enables game developers to integrate EAC support.
According to Epic’s release notes, the latest Epic Online Services SDK now includes EAC compatibility, enabling secure multiplayer experiences on Arm-based Windows 11 systems.
Several of Epic’s own hit titles use EAC, and with compatibility now in place, the company is preparing to release an Arm-native version of Fortnite, allowing Windows 11 Arm players to enjoy the game seamlessly.
Other high-profile games that leverage EAC include Apex Legends, PUBG, and Elden Ring. It is highly likely that their developers will now move forward with adaptation efforts, signaling a potential surge in the vibrancy of the Windows 11 Arm gaming ecosystem.
