Apple will fix Siri bug that reads hidden information on lock screen through software updates
Recently, iOS 11 had a bug in which Siri could read the hidden information of third-party apps’ lock screens. Earlier today, Apple confirmed this and will fix it through software updates. In a statement, Apple stated that it has realized that the problem exists and will be fixed by a software update. If analyzed according to the current situation, this update is likely to refer to iOS 11.3, but it is also possible that Apple will resolve this issue through a small update, such as iOS 11.2.7.
Before a Brazilian website exposed Siri’s leaked privacy issue, Siri wouldn’t read Apple’s own information app lock screen hidden message but would read third-party, such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Gmail. Since Siri does not distinguish between the user’s voice, anyone can use Siri to snoop on the owner’s private information.
It is worth mentioning that although Siri can’t read the lock screen hiding information of the information application, it can read the subject of the mail application.
