Microsoft Launches Windows 10 IoT Long-Term Services Edition for IoT Devices
Microsoft has officially launched the long-term service branch of the Windows 10 IoT Internet of Things version, which provides ten years of security maintenance.
The Windows 10 IoT Special Edition is primarily intended for IoT devices that use the ARM/X86/X64 microarchitecture with or without a screen.
The issue of how to ensure security for most consumer-grade IoT products after release is the main reason why Microsoft has launched the long-term service version of LTSC.

Vendors can work with Microsoft to keep IoT devices up and running after they are sold, making them safer for users and the entire Internet.
In view of the importance of this version, Microsoft decided to support its charges, and the original Windows 10 IoT IoT Edition was licensed for free.
LTSC Long-Term Service Edition requires manufacturers to pay additional fees before they can use it. Ultimately, it may have some additional licensing fees for consumer products.
At present, this version is still in the testing phase so developers and vendors can preview ahead of schedule and wait for the official release before deciding whether to use this paid version. Interested developers can apply for a limited preview via e-mail (iotservices@microsoft.com), a more extensive preview version will be released in July, and the official version will be later this year.
