NVIDIA GeForce 397.31 WHQL Driver Released
Nvidia has officially released the NVIDIA GeForce 397.31 WHQL driver to the public. The new driver includes new feature support for Nvidia RTX technology, component updates, file-cleaning after driver installation, and fixes for several known issues.
NVIDIA GeForce 397.31 WHQL automatically cleans up folders after installation, which means you don’t have to manually free up disk space. And the new driver adds development support for Nvidia RTX technology, which is DirectX 12’s ray tracing technology, and it has the following requirements:
- Windows 10 RS4 (updated in April 2018)
- Nvidia Volta GPU
- Nvidia driver version 396 or higher
- Microsoft DXR Development Kit
The NVIDIA GeForce 397.31 WHQL driver also adds support for Vulkan 1.1, new HD audio sample rates (32 kHz, 88.2 kHz and 176.4 kHz for all GPUs, nvdlist.dll, and nvdlistx.dll for Optimus and MSHybrid notebooks) ), and the NVDECODE API that allows the user to reconfigure the decoder resolution and post-processing parameters.
The new driver adds Game Ready support to BattleTech and FrostPunk and has updated or added SLI profiles and 3D Vision profiles for the following games: Descenders, Frostpunk, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, Far Cry 5, and Eve Valkyrie – Warzone.
The new version of the driver is compatible with Windows 7 and devices that use a later version of Windows. Users can directly update through GeForce Experience or download and install it separately from the Nvidia download site.
